Register for the webinar about the DataFAIRy project

| View in browser Dear Colleague, New events and webinar recordings: Register for a new webinar, “FAIR Bioassay Annotation” on March 25th 2021, 8 am PST (11 am EST, 4 pm London). In 2020 a team of scientists from AstraZeneca, BMS, Novartis and Roche set forth to find a way to convert unstructured biological assay descriptions into FAIR information objects. In this talk we will present the lessons learned in the pilot project to annotate bioassay descriptions en masse and will chart a way to expand this effort in the future. Our speakers are Isabella Feierberg, Associate Principal Scientist, AstraZeneca; Dana Vanderwall, Director of Biology & Preclinical IT, Bristol-Myers Squibb; Rama Balakrishnan, Biomedical Ontology Specialist, Genentech; and Samantha Jeschonek, Research Scientist, Collaborative Drug Discovery. Other team members may also join the panel discussion. View the recording of our previous webinar “Imaging Biomarkers”, in case you missed it. If you work for a Pistoia Alliance member company, or hold academic or individual membership in the Pistoia Alliance, please join our members-only LinkedIn Group. Note a new series of virtual events, “AI 4 proteins”, created by the ai3sd research network. Our digital library this month has two multimedia additions plus multiple papers: View the recording of “Real-World Evidence - Leveraging AI and Analytics for Real Value and Lasting Impact.” Our AI CoE Advisory Committee member Prashant Natarajan, Vice President of AI & Analytics Solutions, H2O.ai, delivered this talk on February 15th, as a keynote presentation at the Qiagen Digital Insights hackathon. It is referenced here with permission. In this talk Prashant Natarajan describes how less common types of RWE, beyond EMRs, all-claims, and commercial data sets, like patient-reported experiences, and data from wearables, at-home devices, and implants, are used to create value at scale and achieve lasting impact in healthcare.
