• A question from the Pistoia Alliance management for our AI/ML community: in the past the Pistoia Alliance ran a project in ontology mapping, aiming to create tools that would provide for an easy comparison of ontologies and drive interoperability. That project evolved into the FAIR Implementation initiative, which is immensely successful. But there is still an apparent need to map and compare ontologies. This need is reflected in the benchmarking exercise conducted by the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative and described in the open-access paper. We wonder whether it is a topic that may be addressed with a proper ML system. Do you have additional information or an opinion about this? Please let us know.
